Volley is a specialized untargeted ranged attack that shoots a large amount
of ammo in a specified direction. Volley cannot be targeted, and thus randomly
damages any creature or player in the specified room, even allies.
Volley is a channelling skill. This means that the skill takes a lot of time
and that it can be interrupted. While channeling, a player experiences lag - the
player cannot input any commands. The amount of time a player lags is proportional
to the amount of ammo shot. Volley is interrupted if the channelling player
is attacked. If volley gets interrupted, the lag immediately stops and all arrows
are instantly unloaded back into the player's inventory or container.
Volley drains movement points proportional to the amount of ammo shot. Thus,
a higher number of ammo will lead to a greater loss of movement points. The
maximum number of ammo that a player can volley at once depends on the player's
level.
When using volley, a player must specify a particular room.
Syntax example: "volley 10 arrow from quiver 2.east"
Will take 10 arrows from the quiver and shoot them two rooms to the east.
Syntax example: "volley 4 arrow 1.west"
Will shoot 4 arrows one room west.
