lichdom

Liches are powerful magic-users who have dedicated their lives to the power of black magic. They sacrifice their physical bodies in return for eternal life so that they may forever learn and seek knowledge in their art. To invoke lichdom the necromancer mage must first have gained access to the spell 'lichdom', learned only after mastering certain prerequisite spells such as negative channel, animate dead and one or two others. (See help 'secrets'). Lichdom is not easy, and even should a necromancer obtain all of his lich-quest items he or she is not guaranteed a successful transition to undead state. If a necromancer does wish to still undertake this transition, he or she must obtain the items from the lichdom spell, and give them to Chemosh for brewing into a special potion.
